Lib Dem Parliamentary Candidate Rosalyn Harper has been asked to keep an online diary of her activities in the run up to the General Election on May 5th. The "weblog" or "blog" will be published on the Channel 4 website as part of its election coverage.
Rosalyn Harper studying Residents Survey responses from throughout Surrey Heath
Rosalyn Harper said:"I think it is a really good way of engaging with young people and also encouraging people to go out and vote."
She added that the Tory deselection battle last year - where the sitting Conservative MP Nick Hawkins was ditched by the Surrey Heath Conservative Association - had thrust the constituency into he spotlight and may have been one of the reasons that she had been chosen to write the blog.
"I will try in my blog to give readers a feel for the hard work, the excitement - and the fun - of a campaign. It will let people know what types of things I have been doing, anecdotes and any visits that I have made to local institutions such as schools and nursing homes."
Rosalyn's Harpers weblog can be accessed through the link on the Surrey Heath Lib Dem website, or at http://www.channel4.com/news/microsites/E/election2005_blogs/harper_blog.html
