The Liberal Democrats on Guildford Borough Council and Surrey County Council want to see an end to the Tories' wasted millions.
Local people are becoming increasingly angered by the millions of pounds being wasted by their two Conservative Councils.
Guildford Borough Council has angered residents by planning to spend £1.5million on a new 'shopping-mall' style reception for their offices in the middle of Guildford. While some small changes are needed to help access for the disabled, these would cost nothing like the £1,500,000 of this prestige project.
Other waste at Millmead includes over £1million wasted on consultants for a new Civic Hall, with no solution in sight, and a war chest for next year's elections.
Meanwhile Surrey County Council's waste includes £4,620,000 on plans to move their offices from Kingston to Woking, which came to nothing, and more cash on outside consultants brought in to try to save money!
Local campaigner Denise Smith said, "People in Ash feel they get a raw deal from the Tories, having seen County Hall increase its share of council tax by 5% only for much of the money to be wasted."
Parliamentary Spokesperson Duncan Clark said "Many people are already saying they will vote Liberal Democrat in the by-elections, expected to be near the end of July."
