Cllr Shirley Wheeler, Cllr Bryan Ward, Tim Faltermeyer, Cllr Duncan Clark, Cllr John Faulkner and Paul Hutchinson campaigning to save Bagshot Post Office
Bagshot Liberal Democrat Borough and Parish Councillors have been working hard to ensure that the future of the post office in Bagshot is secure.
At a recent Parish Council meeting it was agreed that the Council should write to Royal Mail expressing its concern at the closure of the post office, and its sadness that the current Post Mistress was retiring.
Cllr Bryan Ward told Focus "It is essential that Royal Mail secure an alternative premises for the Post Office to continue to operate in Bagshot. I have spoken to many local business and passed on details of how this can be achieved, and with luck it is hoped that the Post Office
will continue to serve our residents from a premises on our High Street."
Cllr Meurig Williams confirmed "Until a formal agreement with any new provider is confirmed by Royal Mail, we will keep up the pressure. We are not prepared to let the Post Office just disappear".
