Cllr Jill Catley and Cllr Judy Douch inspect the clear-up operation.
Good news for local residents! The field that was occupied by travellers in Pennypot Lane is now being cleaned-up by contractors. This has been achieved by joint funding between Surrey Heath Borough Council and the Environment Agency.
West End Lib Dem Councillor Judy Douch told Focus: "I have worked hard putting continuous pressure on the local council on behalf of residents and am glad to see that the field is gradually returning to normality. Now the council must concentrate on ensuring that no further incursions take place. One solution would be for the council to take permanent control over the field."
Lib Dem Parish Councillor Jill Catley agreed. "We all need to put pressure on central government and Surrey County Council to set up transit sites so traveller incursions on private land become less likely."
