Ruth and Gret survey the site of recent flooding in Bagshot
Bagshot community activists Gret Woodason and Ruth Hutchinson are calling for action to prevent a repeat of this summer's flooding in the village.
Over recent years Bagshot has seen a number of flooding incidents caused by heavy rain. Many residents fear that the new housing proposed at Notcutts will make the flooding problem worse.
Gret Woodason told Focus "The Borough Council needs to take the lead in ensuring that our village is protected from flooding. It should work closely with the County Council and the Environment Agency to ensure that the streams and drainage systems across our village are able to cope".
Ruth Hutchinson agreed "The Borough Council should review how it reacted to the floods this summer. It needs to listen to those residents affected by flooding and make sure it is better prepared for when this happens again.
