FRIMLEY PARK HOSPITAL NEEDS FUNDING

May 29, 2017 5:07 PM

Frimley Park Hospital

The Government needs to provide extra funding for health and social care. Our population is aging. More health and social care is needed to give people the medical facilities and care they need. Frimley Park Hospital is judged as outstanding but needs the money to be able to stay this way. Health and social care includes many vital services, for example, our hospitals, home care, mental health services, social services, care in the community for new mothers and babies and many more. These services are life changing to the people who need them.

Liberal Democrats pledge an extra 1p on income tax to be used to fund this increasing demand. Ann-Marie Barker

"Adding 1p to income tax will help provide funding for health and social care needs", says Ann-Marie Barker. "Mental health has been consistantly underfunded. Liberal Democrats would allocate funding specifically to adult and children's mental health, giving equal status with physical health."

Norman Lamb, Liberal Democrat spokeperson for Health has led a cross-party group to address the social care challenge. He believes the government should commit to equality for mental health in the workplace by amending health and safety legislation to require all employers to provide Mental Health First Aid.
